About us

NYCER Seafood, LLC is a vertically integrated premium seafood producing, processing, and exporting company headquartered in USA with processing plant in Khulna, Bangladesh. We specialized in the world famous Fresh-water and farm raised Black Tiger Shrimp. We are one of the early processors, and exporters for Tilapia, and Pangasius (Swai) from Bangladesh. We also process, and export variety of other deep sea-water seafood like Chaka (Penaeus Indicus), Horina (Metapenaeus Monoceros), Seawater Red Tiger (Cat Tiger/Penaeus Japonicus) shrimp, Red Snapper, Cod, Squid, Indian Salmon, and many other white fish seafood. We offer various value added products well as. Through our affiliates and partners, we purvey and market our own brand (“NYCER” and “Tokaii”) of seafood.
Our dealings with fish and seafood started back in 1930’s when our grandfathers, uncles used to lease parts of local bays, canals, and rivers in Barisal and Khulna districts from the local municipalities to rent out (ezara) to the local fishermen annually. The tradition continued throughout the generations. Over the years we have gone through many changes for the betterment of our products and services. Currently we are focused specializing in production, processing, marketing, and exporting premium quality seafood to our partners, buyers in different parts of the world from Middle East to Southeast Asia to Eastern and Western Europe to North America (USA and Canada). As a business policy, we do not participate in “spot selling” our seafood. We strictly export to our preferred, exclusive importers and buyers in different parts of the world.
NYCER Seafood we believe in safe and sustainable seafood culture as our existence and success dependent on it. Our plant is fully HACCP compliant as well as other aquaculture certified seafood safety and regulations compliant. As a processor and exporter, we are fully approved by the US FDA, and EU to distribute, worldwide.

Our Products

At NYCER Seafood you will get year round (through stocks) supply of frozen Black Tiger shrimp, Fresh-water shrimp, Tilapia, Swai (12 months a year) along with other seafood. Although technically Black Tiger is harvested only 7-9 months (from April thru December) a year and Freshwater shrimp only 6-8 months (from September thru March) in Bangladesh, NYCER normally has reserved supply of shrimp for the reminder of the year (although, subject to availability).

Aquaculture is by far one of the fastest growing food production systems in the world with bulk of the output currently being produced within the developing countries like Bangladesh, India, Thailand, Myanmar, and Vietnam. At NYCER Seafood, our production and processing plant (Asian Seafood Ltd, BD) in Khulna, Bangladesh has long standing approval from EU (Approval No: KLN-08) and US FDA (Green Ticket No: BK-23) to frequently ship seafood to these countries.

Setup of the Plants
Our processing plant is capable of handling 40-80 metric tons of head-on shrimp a day. Typically, M/S Marel/Carnitech (Denmark) supplied and installed most of the processing equipments. M/S Jonsson (USA) supplied the peeling machines and Mycon (Japan) supplied the refrigeration systems. The plants are designed to process a wide variety of products from simple block frozen products to high-value ready to eat individually quick frozen and cooked products. Our shrimp reach these plants in less than an hour after harvest and are processed and packed in less than six hours after harvest. These plants have large, fully automated chill rooms that can hold up to 25-40 tons of whole shrimp as it comes in from the farms.
Generally at our typical partners’ processing plants there are three major processing lines, a head-on line with the capacity to handle two tons an hour, a headless line with the capacity to handle 1.2 tons an hour, and a peeling line with the capacity to handle one ton of raw shrimp an hour. Three plate freezers can freeze 20-30 tons of shrimp a day, and two spiral freezers can freeze 3-5 tons per hour. There are two flow pack machines from Sandiacre. As part of the worldwide marketing strategy, great importance has been given to the implementation of HACCP and ISO quality control systems.

Feed Mill

The typical capacity load is 10-15 tons per hour. BUHLER (Switzerland) installed the machinery and technology.


Intake Pumping Station

The intake pump stations were designed to create a flow of heavy load of static heads. It is equipped with twelve Amacan submersible, vertical pumps. The length of the intake canal tends to be around 18-22 miles long!


Drain Pumping Station

The return water pump station is designed for a flow rate of 240 cu/ft/sec at a static head of 5.2 ft. It is equipped with 17 Amaline submersible, horizontal pumps. The total length of the return water canal is 22-25 miles.

 
Shrimp Head Powder

The offal plant processes fresh shrimp heads into shrimp head powder, which NPC sells as a feed ingredient in laminated, polypropylene bags weighing either 55 or 110 lbs.

NYCER Seafood to the US Shrimp and Seafood Market

It is with great pleasure to inform you that NYCER Seafood has finally arrived here in America. Since 1930’s our extended families have been supplying raw shrimp and other seafood to the distributors and exporters in Bangladesh who have been processing, and exporting them to all over the world in their brand names.
